The province publishes long-term care prices and they are identical everywhere. Retirement homes and private care set their own, with no cap and no duty to disclose. Change the region below and watch which numbers move.

Older beds cost less. Semi-private and private rates are grandfathered by admission date. Beds from before 1 July 2015 run $79.61–$83.19 semi-private and $91.58–$97.90 private. Ask which class the bed is.

A bill to cap retirement home increases was defeated on 16 April 2026, 38 to 65. Only rent is capped, at 2.1% for 2026. Care and meals have no cap and no limit on how often they rise. And they are usually most of the bill.
